Changing domain DNS records

Starting September 1, Shopify sellers started receiving notifications that they need to check their domain settings for wildcard entries*. If you've received this message, read on to find out why this is happening and what to do about it.

The good news is that the problem is quickly solved :)
Why is this happening?
Starting August 1st, Shopify is taking a stricter look at domain settings to ensure security.
What should be done?
If you received a message, you should log in to your domain control panel and check your DNS records - the most common steps to take are:
- The A record with an asterisk (*) in the name should be deleted, if any.
- At the same time, check that all other entries are in order, according to this instruction .
- The A record must point to the Shopify IP address: 23.227.38.65
- There must be a www record of type CNAME with the value shops.myshopify.com
- If you are using a new type of customer accounts or have another subdomain, be sure to check if there is a CNAME record for it as well, for example: account record of type CNAME with the value shops.myshopify.com .

It may take up to 48 hours for changes to take effect.
